Arsenic-silver incompatibility in fahlore
نویسندگان
چکیده
Silver-bearing zinc-iron tetrahedrite-tennantite and freibergit fahlores approximating the simplified formula (Ag,Cu)m(Fe,Zn)2(As,Sb)4S~3 have been equilibrated with excess electrum (AuxAgl_~) and chalcopyrite + pyrite + iron-bearing sphalerite (CuFeS2 + FeS2 + Fe0.05Zn0.95S) in evacuated silica tubes at 300 ~ in reversed silver-copper exchange experiments with less than 0.1 mg NH4CI added as a transport medium. A thermodynamic formulation and parameters describing A s A g incompatibility at 400 ~ (Ebel and Sack, 1989), which incorporate large temperature dependencies of standard-state properties and composition-ordering systematics, are shown to apply equally well to these 300~ results. A generalised graphical model for this mineral assemblage is presented, describing fahlore composition as a function of temperature and the compositions of coexisting electrum and (Fe,Zn)S, which define the Ag(Cu)_l and Fe(Zn)_l exchange properties controlling fahlore compositions.

Nakhlak lead deposit, one of the oldest and largest Iranian lead mines, is located in 55 Km from the northeast of Anarak town. Nakhlak deposit occurs as stratabound and epigenetic in Upper Cretaceous dolomitic carbonates host rocks. The hypogene ore deposits include galena and barite that are associated in supergene zone with cerussite. Galena occurs as coarse and fine grains with replacement a...
متن کاملArsenic detection from water using a silver-modified carbon nanotubes composite electrode
In this study, the protocol for arsenic (III) detection from an aqueous solution using stripping voltammetry on a silver-modified synthetic zeolite-carbonnanotubes-epoxy composite electrode (CNT-AgSZ) was elaborated. Three types of electrochemical techniques were used in order to optimize the operating conditions, i.e., cyclic voltammetry, differential-pulsed voltammetry and squarewave voltamme...

The Sebandoon Barite (gold-silver) deposit is located about 20 km NW of the Kashmar in the Central Iran. The rock units exposed in the area consist of Eocene volcano-sedimentary sequences of lithic tuff, rhyolitic tuff, tuffaceouce shale, lapilli tuff and agglomerate associated with pyroxene andesite and trachyandesite. The barite is composed of lenticular, banded and stockwork mineralization a...
متن کاملPreparation and study of superficially coloured lead glass
Superficially coloured lead crystal glass was obtained by ion-exchange with silver. Both red and yellow ruby colouring were achieved by the presence of small silver particles (colloids) dispersed into the ion-exchanged glass surface. Direct silver ion-exchange of the glass yielded yellow colouring (optical absorption around 410 nm). Silver ion-exchange of lead glass previously doped with a redu...
متن کاملVisual detection of arsenic using hydride generation followed by reaction with silver bis(2-ethylhexyl)dithiocarbamate retained in a support filter.
In this study, a simple and effective method for the detection of trace amounts of arsenic in water samples was developed. Arsenic hydride generated by the reduction of a water sample was passed through a sensing filter retaining silver bis(2-ethylhexyl)dithiocarbamate complex. The original yellow color of the filter immediately turned reddish violet. The difference of color was observed by a r...
